How to get here from Athens

Flying is only direct way from Athens since no ferries from three ports of Athens operate routes to Kefalonia. Aegean Airlines and Sky Express fly Athens International Airport to Kefalonia Airport 4 times a day.

Alternatively reach Western Greece via car or bus and board ferry — options: bus ferry combo from Athens bus terminal to Argostoli main town, you pay separately ferry ticket bus goes on ferry, or take intercity bus to Kyllini, buy ferry ticket to Kefalonia Poros, bus from Poros to Argostoli if required. Via Patras also. There are 3 basic ways: fly, bus-ferry combo, or bus to Kyllini then ferry.

From other Ionian islands also ferry. Island is big, rent car essential.
