In the latest sweep of semantic edits across the directory, there have been a number of pages purged, but why? Simply put; nobody wants them. Pages like “Greek islands over 200 Meters Tall” is a great category to have in an objective, idealist world, but it has very little value to anyone for almost any reason. As a result the entire “elevation” category, one of approximately 59 parent categories has been removed entirely with its four dependent pages. Although it seems counterintuitive to remove pages I built 3 months ago, the reality is, the directory is on track to reach in excess of 1,000 pages and its ability to be scanned and indexed by google is highly dependent upon its size and structure, to which these outdated taxonomy pages simply don’t meet the standards for.
