Pserimos

Pserimos is a small Dodecanese island between Kalymnos and Kos, only 14 square kilometres with about 30-40 permanent residents, almost all living around the main port and beach at Avlakia on the south coast. Low-lying and arid, with olive and scrub-covered hills rising to 268 metres, it has a few sandy coves and very clear, shallow water.

It lives mainly from day tourism in summer, with excursion boats from Kos, Kalymnos and Pserimos’ larger neighbours bringing visitors for swimming, fish tavernas and the small church of Panagia Grafiotissa. No cars beyond a few pickups, no real nightlife, just a quiet island feel with one shop, a few rooms to rent, and beaches like Marathonda and Vathy on the north that are reachable by boat or footpath.

The car-free secret between Kalymnos and Kos — the caper island

Pserimos, Greek Ψέριμος Δωδεκανήσου, also called Capari Kapari after aromatic plant capers that thrives abundantly among rocks, is a small Greek island in the Dodecanese chain lying between Kalymnos and Kos in front of coast of Turkey, southeast of Kalymnos to which administratively belongs, part of municipality of Kalymnos. Near Kalymnos 4 km and Kos 3 km, close to Bodrum in Turkey.

It covers an area of 15 sq km, tiny island one of smallest islands of Dodecanese and covers small area only 15 square kilometres, little secret island 15 km2 with turquoise waters surrounded by olive groves green valleys and low hills in Southeastern Aegean Sea. Highest peak 268 meters elevation 268m near waters Aegean Sea. There are no roads on island, it is car-free island.

Population reported 80 inhabitants at 2011 census, about 30 people living permanently. There is basic tourism infrastructure for summer visitors. About excellent island for those who want ultimate peace.

Traditional quiet island ideal for relaxing holidays away from hustle and bustle. It is not for nightlife or mass tourism — only basic infrastructure. People get it wrong writing area as 15 square meters — it is 15 square kilometres. Ferries: no direct routes from mainland Greece, served by daily ferry from Pothia on Kalymnos, plus boat Pirates of Kos and day trips from Kos.
