Zakynthos
Famous for Navagio Beach, the shipwreck cove only reachable by boat beneath 200-metre cliffs, and for the endangered loggerhead sea turtles that nest on Laganas Bay, Zakynthos is known for its turquoise waters, sea caves at Keri and the Blue Caves, and Venetian heritage. The most southerly of the major Ionian islands, it mixes protected national marine park areas in the south with lively tourism infrastructure in the east.

Known for its calm waters protected from Aegean winds and for being a quiet escape from nearby Nafpaktos and Galaxidi, Trizonia has a few guesthouses, tavernas and moorings for sailing boats. Cars are restricted, and access is by a short boat crossing from the mainland, making it a popular weekend stop for yachts crossing the Corinthian Gulf.
