Least Visited Greek Islands
Least Visited Greek Islands are islands where the ferry slows down, the crowds thin out and time moves to a quieter, more local rhythm, with tiny harbours where fishing boats outnumber yachts, a handful of tavernas serving what was caught that morning, and beaches where you might share the cove with only a few goats and a chapel bell in the distance.

They are islands where authenticity and solitude define the days, with unpaved paths linking stone villages, wildflower-covered hills for hiking, family-run guesthouses instead of resorts, and evenings spent under huge starry skies with no nightlife buzz beyond the cicadas and conversation, creating that rare feeling of having found your own secret corner of the Aegean.

Who it suits and why
Best for travellers who want to get away from it all. These islands suit those who love slow days, empty beaches and a sense of discovery – headed by Anafi, Donoussa, Irakleia, Schinoussa, Kimolos, Kassos, Kastellorizo, Sikinos and Fourni. Ideal if you want tavernas where the owner sits with you, harbours with three boats, and no beach clubs or queues.
Less suited to those who want ease and variety. If you want direct flights, luxury hotels, big choice of restaurants, nightlife and organised trips every day, these least visited islands will feel too quiet, too limited and too hard to reach.
What to keep in mind
Least visited means less connected and more seasonal. None have international airports, so you fly to Athens or a nearby hub with 3 to 4.5 hour UK flights May to October then take ferries of 4 to 12 hours, often only 2 to 4 times a week. Accommodation is mostly family rooms and small guesthouses that open May to late September and book out early despite low numbers.
On the ground bring patience and cash. Buses are rare or non-existent so you may need to walk or arrange a lift, ATMs and pharmacies can be single and closed for siesta, and beaches are usually unorganised with no sunbeds, bars or shade. Shops and ferries close in high winds and outside summer many places shut completely.
