Best for travellers who want every day packed. Ideal if you want hike morning, boat noon, ruins sunset, bar crawl night.
Less suited to those who want pure quiet with no schedule. If you want Patmos monastery hush, Hydra no cars donkey paths and Folegandros cliff sundown with no speakers, lots to do islands with waterparks 25 to 35 euro, boat trips 40 to 70 euro, clubs 20 to 80 euro and crowds 10am to 2pm will feel too busy and loud.

Samaria open May to October 5 euro 5 to 7 hours, Delos boat 25 to 35 euro plus 12 euro entry 9am to 1pm only, Shipwreck boat 30 to 60 euro, waterparks 25 to 35 euro 10am to 6pm, Lindos and Knossos 12 to 15 euro 8am to 8pm April to October. July to August book 1 day ahead.
On the ground base central to avoid backtrack. Stay Chania or Hersonissos Crete for gorge and park, Rhodes Town for Old Town and Faliraki for park and strip, Corfu Town or Sidari for Aqualand and Old Town, Laganas Zakynthos for boats and strip, Naxos Town for Portara and Zas, Paradise Mykonos for Delos and beach. Hire car 25 to 45 euro day, book boats morning calm, hikes 6am to 10am to dodge 30 to 35 degree heat, carry reef shoes for pebbles, and go June or September for 24 to 28 degrees and sea 22 to 26 degrees with 20 min queues not 60 min August peak.
